Eliminate the Hip Dumping, and Become a Better Aligned Skier
Eliminate the hip dumping habit and develop true alignment. How intention, assessment, drills and outcomes align with your skiing.
By Andrew Elsdon·

Hip dumping is what happens when a skier tries to get more edge angle by dropping the hip into the turn instead of tipping from the feet. It looks dynamic from the lift. From the snow, it's a skidded turn with the weight on the wrong ski.
It's one of the most common habits I see in strong intermediate and advanced skiers, and one of the hardest to feel from the inside, because it feels like you're doing more.
